Envestra’s natural gas networks operate mainly as regulated monopolies in key population centres in Victoria, South Australia and Queensland as well as in smaller centres in New South Wales and the Northern Territory.

Description of Assets

Distribution mains

carry gas from the Gate Stations (points where the gas enters the networks from the transmission pipelines which carry gas from the gas production facilities to the cities) to the consumers through low, medium and high pressure pipes.

Inlets (Services)

carry gas from the pipe in the street to the consumer's property.

Pressure regulators

maintain adequate pressures throughout the distribution networks

Metering equipment

records gas entering the systems and consumers' gas usage.
